I wouldn't do it on the laptop, the fans will be blaring at full tilt always. I have a 9600 on this laptop but I never use it either, shame really as it's on for a good 6-8 hours a day (the other problem is that I'd have to boot into Windows).

Trying to see if I can get another GTS 250 in the loop in the coming months, it'll be great if we can get close to 30,000 points per day.

I was planning on seeing how hot it got & adjusting the % of CPU power used.

Sadly, I'm not going to be able to contribute anything extra until I (finally) get a new system. 2015 at this rate.

Managed to wrangle another 250 into folding so sometime next week we may hit the 27-28,000 points per day mark (30,000 would be really nice but I'm not sure the 250 will add that much). Should help us get near the top 500 by the end of the year though.

Had a slight connectivity issue at the place where most of the folding clients run hence the massive drop in points - thanks to BT disconnecting the ADSL there.

Anyhow I took the opportunity to stick a third GPU in the main folding box there, and according to FAHMon it should do around 14000-15000 points per day (2x GTS 250 and 1x 9600GS). I'll wait a little longer to see if I can pick up another GTS 250 for around 50-60 quid and upgrade the 9600GS (should give another 3000 points per day).

I've had to cut back quite a bit as the overall power consumption was getting far too high. It means I'm back down to the 15000 points per day mark instead of 30000. We were really pushing forward, but sadly with power costs I just can't afford to risk using that much power.

Still, steady as she goes :)
