My husband plays endless hours of online games like Guild Wars, etc. Does this open my computer to others? Can his gaming friends or other players obtain access to my system this way. I don't necessarily trust that it is a secure way to play. How to I tell if my computer is safe? Can Online gaming open my computer to other people?

If your computer is secure for normal internet use I believe on-line gaming is no threat. What happens with on-line gaming is that a secure server, such as those offered by UKgamer.com, handles the interaction. Other online gamers have no access to your computer at all.
