Does the iPod nano still need itunes to upload its songs? cos that's no good at all, i'd rather have an mp3 player that acts like a usb memory disk then needing proprietary software to upload music.

I used to think that but apparently there's a setting where you can turn the Ipod into "drive mode" whereby you don't have to use iTunes.

To be honest I really don't know what the fuss is with iTunes. On my mac it's a horrible application that eats up huge amounts of memory and it's hardly minimalistic.

I guess it's a small market and Winamp isn't exactly excellant either.

What does winamp have to do with it? Itunes is still a horrible application on Windows too... same reasons.

i THINK apple ipods are looking wise, quality wise, display wise and sound wise were good.
