Default Smartphones

We've got an article coming up in the next few days where I look at the price we pay for smartphone functionality.

I was wondering if any of you guys were considering getting a smartphone to replace your current unit or if you already have one what your thoughts are on it.

Cheers,

Lawrence

I had a strange fondness for my Nokia 6600 "egg-phone". Strange because it was bulky and had a very average screen and poor battery life. My SE P900 was great but just too bulky and I never could afford a P910, which I suppose was just as bulky.
I had a long look at the Nokia 3230 too but talked myself out of it. Not sure about the design on that one either.
Wouldn't mind a look at the N70 or N90.

I've never actually paid for a phone, I just use my phone till it expires and then steal (well, borrow) someone's old phone, and so the cycle begins again :)

I wonder what percentage of people do the same thing. With teenagers and so on the latest phone is a must have thing but I think "normal" people do what you say, use the phone until it dies and then either get a free upgrade or gets a phone off a friend that they don't want.

To be honest I can't really take a high and mighty view, I have a decent smartphone but I don't really have any intention of changing it (it's about 1 year old now).

Many of the "new" features are more hype than anything else in my view. What's the point of being able to watch video on a mobile anyway? When I'm out of the house I want to do something other than watch TV (like talk to my imaginary friends) :)
